2013 round up

First of all, a happy Christmas season to everyone!

Just a quick update to round off the year, which has been an enjoyable one for us.  The highlight has to be releasing our 2nd album, Symbolic Violence, back in spring.  We are really proud of the record and happy to see it has made a couple of people’s LPs of 2013, e.g. here.  The album has helped to sustain us in terms of gradually getting more international gigs and radio plays.  This year has seen us play some of our favourite gigs yet, such as Berlin Popfest, Pop In in Paris, Glasgow’s Glad Cafe and Manchester’s A Carefully Planned Festival (this last one worked pretty well for not being an indiepop event).

Miguel and Andrew also had a great time this month playing an acoustic show at Big Pink Cake’s Christmas Party in London.  The room was really atmospheric and it wasn’t easy following the excellent Flowers, but we think we did a good job – watch the video below to see for yourselves!

We’re already planning gigs for next year, including Birmingham Popfest in April which is now confirmed.   Apart from the odd festival gig, we intend to be working hard on material for a third album which we aim to record in late 2014.  So far, the songs we have come up with are very much in keeping with our melodic guitar based sound – however, there’s something different coming out as well which should keep the interest levels up if nothing else…

We hope to see some of yous in the coming year!
